I saw this over at Rays Index and oh boy did I get excited. First things first, I’m no fan of Aaron Heilman because I don’t know much about him. All I know is he was one of the Mets better prospects a couple years ago and he apparently had a down year this past year. He may be good or he may be awful, but if the Rays could snag this guy for Jonny Gomes, why wouldn’t they? Now we all know what a big fan I am of Mr. Gomes, right? I find this somewhat humorous because I personally feel that Gomes is a non-tender candidate. It’s painfully obvious that he has no place on this team and he is due a raise in arbitration I believe. I don’t think he has any more options, so why keep him? If this deal is possible, make it! This is purely speculation on Mets Fever’s part, but it got my attention and got too excited. Oh well, that’s why I like the baseball hot stove.
