Well, it was as ugly as it could possibly be. Not only did they drop the final four games of the season and miss the playoffs, but they did it in old school orange Buccaneer fashion. I think we all took the Carolina loss fairly well, it was on the road against a tough team and the Bucs were banged up. The Atlanta game was tough to swallow, but it was another tough road game and we could all understand it a little. The San Diego game was an absolute disaster and no one wanted to believe that it actually happened. It all could have been salvaged though with a win against an awful Oakland team and a Cowboy loss. The Cowboys did their part by taking an absolutely laughable beating at the hands of the Eagles, but it was too little too late. The Bucs had already lost to the second most dysfunctional team in the NFL, and it wasn’t as close as the 31-24 score would lead one to believe. This monumental collapse has left me wondering, who do we blame for this? Let’s try to figure it out. The offense? Jon Gruden’s offense has never really taken [...]

I was listening to Ron and Ian today and found it hysterical when they discussed Ronde Barber’s comments about Gaines Adams. Ian Beckles has been critical of Adams from day one and, as a former offensive lineman, has been very descript in his critique of him. I personally feel the same way regarding Adams although I’m not ready to label him as a bust yet (not that Ian is either). Our first round pick of 2007 has yet to establish himself as any sort of force you would expect from a first rounder and isn’t giving me any reason to think he will. Beckles has been saying this for a long time and in Ronde Barber’s weekly radio show he defended Adams so dramatically it was laughable. Barber said that Adams has been making “great plays” throughout every game and that he’s developing into one of the best players in the league. What?! I can appreciate a player defending his teammates but this is ridiculous. One of the best in the league? He also challenged anyone who wants to, especially certain guys who used to play, to watch the game film and be corrected. This was a direct shot at Ian [...]

There are a couple things to reports on here. The first is that Michael Pittman has signed a one year deal with the Bronco’s. Exciting right? Now on to the big news. Gaines Adams has a bad habit. What you ask? I don’t know. You need to check out Stephen Holder tomorrow to find out. Has it come to this really? I know the Bucs junkies out there are starving for anything Bucs but this is pathetic. I expect better from you Stephen! There are things out there to read about regarding the Bucs if you want to get into draft analysis (already) and position battles but this is reaching beyond pathetic. Do you think that he’s going to say he’s addicted to crack or heroin? Stupid crap. I love the Bucs and football but there are other things to do besides worrying about how much chocolate our DE likes to eat. Stupid. Nice job by Buc Em’ catching this worthless crap article. At least I got some Buc info for you today!
In what has transpired to be a boring off-season the only news to report is the Bucs have retained DL Kevin Carter. Carter was a productive player for the Bucs last year in a limited role rotating with Gaines Adams, Greg White and the rest of the linemen. He was released just before the start of free-agency and reportedly turned down more money from Oakland to remain with the Bucs. It still looks troubling to me the Bucs are still so far under the salary cap with the big name free-agents off the market. I’m not sure if they have some trades in the works or were just banking on attracting guys like Randy Moss to come in. I’m no salary cap wizard but the Bucs have to be close to the salary floor right now and unless something dramatic is done during draft time we could be looking at having one of the lowest team payrolls in the NFL. It’s good to have room but if there’s that much room you’re bound to have problems.
